This is the legal background to why this new opportunity has arisen, and created the need for

  our services.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 together with the Fire Safety (Scotland) Order 2005 and similar legislation due in Northern Ireland has changed the way fire regulations for business premises throughout the whole of the

  U.K. are controlled.

Where previously the local authority fire office attended periodically to keep owners up to date with regulations and made requirements as necessary, this no longer happens.

Now the owner has the legal responsibility to arrange fire safety training for all employees, both part and full time, as well providing a fire risk assessment for the premises. In addition both of these items must be regulary updated

  as necessary.

The role of the fire officer is now one of

  enforcement of the regulations.

  End of boring bit (hopefully).
